The 1.968-mile, 12-turn circuit encircles the Long Beach Convention Center — which houses a Family Fun Zone and numerous displays during the race weekend — and runs down scenic Shoreline Drive. It offers numerous overtaking opportunities, including a hairpin turn just before the frontstretch.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The ABC Supply team continues to make steady progress despite one of its more challenging weekends of the season. Tony Kanaan claimed his second straight eighth place finish in the No. 14 ABC Supply Chevrolet while Matheus “Matt” Leist finished his first race on the lead lap in his No. 4 ABC Supply Chevrolet.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Under warm sunny skies, qualifying for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach saw veteran Tony Kanaan make the cut into Round 2 as rookie Matheus “Matt” Leist was pipped by veteran Sebastien Bourdais in the final seconds of the first round.
Eric Cowdin joined AJ Foyt Racing in October as the Technical Director and Tony Kanaan’s race engineer. Following are his thoughts on this weekend’s race on the Streets of Long Beach.
On the biggest challenge at Long Beach: “One of the biggest challenges is the track. It will change constantly through the weekend. There are different surface types all around the track that will gain grip at different rates.”
